So, trying to be brave, I reach out and turn the handle. The tub spits out this nasty brown water with dirt chunks in it! I told Dustin that this was not normal. Immediately after doing this, weird brown water started coming back up into the toilet also. Not a good sign at all. Dustin told me to go outside and look under the house and see if there is water coming from somewhere. As I was walking to go outside I passed Kenna's room. Not even comprehending the waterfall sound coming from inside. I got outside and before I even made it to the opening to the crawl space, I saw water running down the side of the house from the inside of the siding. Immediately I knew. To shut the water inside the house is in the little door pictured below in Kenna's room. Normally her bed sits against this little door!
I went to run back into the house, the door would not open. Kenna had locked me out while she was trying to escape! So I am digging in our hiding spot for our spare key and cannot find it. I looked a few minutes longer and finally I got it!
I get back in the house and go running into Kenna's room which is now flooding and I can see water seeping out of the little door that covers the pipes. I could hear the waterfall sound behind it. I, now bawling, told Dustin, "I can't open it, it is going to spray me." I was fearing the water was going to hose me down and completely inhilate her room. So, I stood to the side and opened it. Well, my fears were almost confirmed, it was a MESS to say the least. Water was spraying everywhere! It didn't soak me at least. I flipped the lever to off and nothing happened. The water kept pouring making the sound you hear from a water slide. I put the door back on and started walking out and it blew the door off. Now, water is spraying the walls and I can't do a thing about it.
I call the contractor to see if he put in a main water shut off inside the house and he told me I had to shut it off by the water meter. I ran outside to open it so I can stop the raging water inside and I can't get the lid off. I ran to the neighbors to see if he was home and he wasn't so I ran back and tried again. I still couldn't get it. In the meantime, Dustin had called the two brother in laws to come over and shut it off. They did it with great ease! I was quite upset that it was so simple to get the lid off I had been fighting for over ten minutes! Then we went in and ripped up the carpet and ARS brought some fans and the adjuster looked at it! Hopefully monday we will know for sure everything that needs to be replaced and here are the pictures I got after the fact. I was too upset to get in the moment pics! Sorry about the novel but it's nice to vent about the things life can throw at you in an instant!
This is where it seeped out into the hall and made its way toward the bathroom. The water that didn't make it to the bathroom this way, made its journey under the wall and cabinets!
The lovely little closet of terror! The white pipe you see that stems from the red one is the wild one!
