FIRST SNOW!

I decided to get Kenna a pair of snow pants and some snow boots when they were on a really good sale last saturday! She took a late nap so I decided to get her dressed and take her out to play when she woke up. She wasn't to thrilled with being put in the snow! Dawson kept throwing snow on her head and she was not too impressed!

Sugar Cookie Party

Every year Dustin's mom has a sugar cookie decorating party! It is one of our favorite things! This year was especially fun because Kenna is a little older and can kind of well, make a mess would be a good way to put it! This is one of the cookies that Amy helped her make! She just thought it was fun to grab the cookies and eat them! She wasn't so much into the frosting! I swear she was going to have a belly ache by the time she was done eating.

She also thought it was fun to sneak candy out of the dishes and eat it. They were kind of tart so she didn't like it very much and just kept spitting it out!

Amy helped Kenna decorate a cookie! Kenna loves her aunt Amy!

I am so glad that Heidi worked for me so I was able to make it to the party! Thanks Heidi!

Reflection

The other night, grandpa Clark came over for dinner and as we were laughing and talking about the good times it made me think back to the trip to Colorado. I began thinking about the drive home! We had the opportunity to ride with grandma, grandpa, and Topper and it was quite the experience. The first of the trip was great, sitting in the backseat was Dustin, me in the middle and grandma on the other side of me. Grandma and I spent most of this part of the trip talking about her childhood and old times in her life and in between she would fall asleep on my shoulder while I slept on the top of her head!!!
Then, we stopped at a gas station to get gas and to look for a snack. Grandma got an ice cream and got in line with us realizing grandpa was outside and she had no money! She asked Dustin if he would buy it for her. When we got out to the car she opened it and just gasped! The ice cream in the middle of the cookie was melted! She made grandpa, who was about to pull out of the station turn around and go back. She said, "why are they selling ice cream if they don't have a fridge cold enough to keep ice cream frozen, this cost almost two dollars!!" (we didn't think two dollars was much to pay for it!!!) Then she began getting out and grandpa asked if she wanted him to go with her and she said, "I don't think you want to be there when I talk to the clerk," we all laughed because we didn't really believe she was that mean! Then she said, "if I am not back in ten minutes come and find me!" She came out to the car a couple minutes later and tried giving Dustin back his money and he told her no and she tossed the $1.78 in Dustin's lap. She said, "they told me I could get another one and trade it but they were all melted!"
Incident number two: I had no idea grandpa had dentures!!!
This was the experience of a lifetime! Grandpa is now sitting in the back seat next to me, the bag of licorice comes out, and grandpa begins eating it. So we are driving and I am chowing down some black licorice that he gave me. Dustin and I were talking for a minute and at that perfect moment, I turn my head just in time to see grandpa pop out his teeth and start licking the leftover licorice pieces from them! I about died!!! I turn to Dustin and said, "YOUR GRANDPA HAS DENTURES?!?!" Dustin told me the story, I got over the shock, grandpa puts his teeth back in and everything was good, for a little while that is. It was good until the licorice began disappearing from the bag again and the teeth were being cleaned in an unconventional way and I was not sure what to do! This happened three or four times. Then he told us the story of getting knocked in the mouth by a bull and that was why he lost his teeth and then he fell asleep! During this trip I learned grandpa clark has dentures, grandma really liked her treats, and Topper drives really slow! Despite the long drive, the shock of dentures and melted ice cream. This was the best car ride I have ever been on! It was priceless!! Dustin and I will never forget that car ride and the memories that were made that day. I am very grateful to have had that time to share Grandma's memories that she loved to tell stories of and I loved listening to them. We will miss her very much but we know we will be together again. She just got an invitation to a party that we weren't invited to and it is hard to be left out.

Little Trouble Makers

On Saturday night we had the opportunity to watch Mandy's kids. It was kind of crazy at first with the coloring because Brylee and Kenna thought they were big enough to color too and I couldn't keep them out of the markers. So, me being a ditz sometimes, thought what a good idea it would be to just give them a marker and a picture to color. I just thought if I told them to color the picture, they would! NOT!!! They colored not only the picture, but also the counter, their bellies and I turned around just in time to catch them with the markers in their mouths! (thank heavens for nontoxic markers! And washable or I would have been in some serious trouble!) They were having such a good time, I had to snap some photos before taking them away from them to get them in the tub! Hanna, Jaxon, and Kenzie thought it was the funniest thing. They are such cute kids and I always enjoy it when Dustin and I get to watch them! The little cheeseball with marker all over the counter!

Troubles with blogging

I was looking at my friend's blog the other day and they have decided to go private after seeing this clip on the news. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=4699330 (take a look). The little things

It's amazing the little things we take for granted each day. The loved one we truly believe to never pass on. We procrastinate in making that short trip to see them because we are "so busy." But when one is in need, the sudden ability we have to drop everything to help them. I had the opportunity to visit and help take care of grandma in her last days on earth and I am so glad that I was able to have that opportunity. I loved going up to there house and visiting them. She was always so happy to see you and LOVED to tell stories. (I loved when she told the same one two or three times!) One thing that is precious to me is how a little girl can put so much life back into someone that seems so lifeless. It was two days before she died and we were up helping grandma get ready for bed and when we were getting ready to go, I took Kenna in their bedroom to tell her bye. I sat down by the bed with Kenna in my lap and she reached out her hand and said, "Grandma!" Grandma opened her eyes and reached out her hand and folded Kenna's inside of it. To my amazement, Kenna sat perfectly still and looked at her as though they had a connection that I couldn't comprehend. Then Kenna said, "love you," and gave her loves and kisses. She was a wonderful woman, so full of life and energy. She was so loving to everyone that was around and she welcomed me into her heart without a second thought. This is one of the warmest, and loving families I have known and I am so happy that I have been given the opportunity to be a part of it. I am very grateful to have been able to get to know her and I am also grateful to know that our family is one of an eternal nature and we will be together again.

NEW PUPPIES!!!

Well, Holly finally had her puppies, all eleven of them! They were born on Halloween morning, and day! All I know is that I could not be a dog! I would rather not have eleven babies all in one day especially when they are each an hour or two apart! If anyone has any name suggestions please help there are too many for our little family to come up with! If anyone wants a puppy they will be ready to go right around Christmas time! Perfect!!!

My Little Spider!

Having a little one has really changed my perspective on Halloween! I really enjoy being able to look for a cute costume to put her in! This year was a lot of fun! Kenna was a spider and it was black and purple. Well, this is her beautiful purple hair! She is quite cheesy when the camera comes out!

It was so funny because after we got her dressed, her and Kenzie matched perfectly!
I was bored so I thought I would get some Halloween pictures because I didn't get very many of her yesterday. She was more interested in what was going on around her instead of me!

She was just as excited as I was! Her daddy was a stick in the mud and left his work clothes on and said that he was a bug killer!

Nothing new just some more fun pictures!!!

Our little girl is growing so fast. She is becoming quite the independent little thing! Her new word is "NO" and boy does she know that word well! I don't know where the attitude came from, well, they all go through it but it all hit at once! I love her little personality! She is just a sweet little girl that gets picked on by all her cousins because she is the little one of the bunch! She is starting to learn how to hold her own but hasn't quite figured it out! I don't know where we would be without her! I love my family more than anything in the world!

I thought this picture was cute so I had to post it! I am really enjoying learning how to take good photos and my teacher has taught me a ton! I am glad I got these pictures of Kenna before Dustin lost my favorite bow! It always seems like your favorite ones are the ones that disappear first.

Beautiful Road Trip!!!

We decided to go for a drive sunday up Logan Canyon and to the temple. The leaves this time of year are gorgeous.
I was sad that the temple gates were locked but just walking around it with our little family was still peaceful! Well, until Kenna figured out that she could fit through the fence and we barely made it in time to grab her! Everything is so green and pretty.

Loving photography!

Well, I went a little wild with the pictures! I have learned a ton in my class! We went up Smithfield Canyon and to Mack Park and these are some of the pictures I took! I took I swear a thousand more but figured my blog might get old if I posted all of them!

Photography Class

I am now taking a photography class (hopefully I can get good enough to start a business) and our first assignment was to go and take at least fifteen pictures of anything we want! Dustin, Kenna and I went on a 4-wheeler ride to "exercise the dogs" last night and the sun was so pretty! It gave me some cute shots! We learned about lighting so I thought I would use some of the skills we learned! Kenna was cheesing it good to her dad who was standing above me! She has seven teeth now!

Playing in the rain!

You know, looking back on it I honestly thought that we'd never see the day that Kenna would be walking and talking. It is crazy that once you have a little one how fast time actually does fly. I try my hardest to make the most of it and to not miss a single moment with her because a moment missed is a moment gone and I want to be a part in every one. I love watching Kenna as she grows, the many stages that she has gone through since she was born amazes me. They all happen so fast I never want to miss any of it!

Loving books!

Kenna's new thing now is books! She LOVES them I am not kidding! The only toy she'll "play" with most of the time is BOOKS! I started reading to her one day and now that's all she wants you to do. The other day I was downstairs doing homework and she got quiet. You know if it suddenly gets quiet they are into something they shouldn't be! I looked over and found her in her favorite rocking chair reading a book so I snapped these pictures!

Big Girl!!!

We finally did it! We got Kenna a big girl car seat! She hated her carrier so bad she would scream everytime we put her into it! She thinks she is so big in this one! She has a cup holder that she will put her cup in and she can reach it if she needs a drink! I think she enjoys looking out the windows and feeling like she is a part of the family in the car! I like it because I can see her face in the mirror!

Catching Up!!!

Well, it has been a while since I have updated you guys on my family! I will just tell you everything we did between August 10 which was the Denver trip and now! The week before school started we had a camp out up High Creek with Dustin's sisters and friends. It was so much fun but a little colder than expected! Kenna loves water! She also loves playing with her cousins Jace and Brylee. They thought it was so much fun throwing rocks in the river and making a splash. We brought our own steaks and boy you should have seen the one Dustin picked out! It was huge! Daniel made some awesome potatoes and of course, Lucinda made a great cobbler! It was one delicous meal!

Weekend in Denver

This weeekend we had a blast! We went to Denver with Dustin's family! We went to two Rockies games (this is us sitting at a game. Not the best picture of me) and went shopping! Of course Kenna got most of the clothes! We had an interesting time also! It rained so hard that the game was delayed, Mandy, Brian, Amy, and Daniel got stuck on the tram, and Kenzie was in the hospital! Other than that, the trip was a lot of fun! Thanks mom and Alex for watching Kenna so we could go!
