Hogle Zoo

On Saturday we went to Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake with the fam! It was so much fun and Kenna loved seeing all of the animals. It was also quite an adventurous day because Kenna did not get a nap on the way down like everyone else! She would throw a fit anytime we tried to pull her away from one exhibit to see the next. She would kick and scream and throw her head back, talk about embarrassing! This is a picture of all of the little ones who went with us! They had so much fun playing together! They are sitting on two tiger statues posing for their picture! This was the best picture I got because in the one that they were actually looking at me, Brylee had her head down so you couldn't even see her! (little stinker!)
This is one of the Peacocks that we chased! We were hoping that it would put its tail feathers up but it never did! These birds are so pretty and their colors are so rich! They do make awful noises though!

Kenna and Brylee had a blast at the Madagascar exhibit! They loved playing in the water as it splashed on their faces!

This is Kenna with her grandpa! She wanted nothing to do with me! She wanted to stay by grandma and grandpa most of the day! Probably because I would discipline her and they are softies when it comes to that grandkids!!! That's okay what are grandparents for right? They spoil your kids then give them back! Thank you so much for letting me and Kenna ride with you we had a ton of fun!

This was one of the flowers they had in the Madagascar exhibit also! Mandy and I thought it was gorgeous so we snapped a few shots! I would love to plant these in my yard but I don't think they would survive!

BEAR HUNTING!!!

Well, Dustin finally talked me into going hunting with him this past weekend! We went to Blanding, UT to go BEAR HUNTING!! Am I crazy or what? I'm pretty much crazy! It was a long tiresome weekend that is for sure. Spending every day waking up at 4 am just to sit in a truck driving on bumpy roads until 9! Can anyone say carsick? That is exactly what I was for all 4 days was just that! We left friday night at about 8:30 pm, arrived in Blanding at about 4:45 the next morning and hopped into another truck and went hunting! Aside from waking up early and sitting in a truck all day, we did see some pretty cool stuff! We saw a REAL LIVE BEAR!! That was pretty cool and kinda scary in a way! This is a picture of the bear sitting up in the tree watching us and the dogs! Cute right? It would look down and drool would keep falling out of its mouth! It was just a little one so I wasn't too nervous! I think I would have been more scared if it was growling and mean!
If you look in the picture above and see that lovely rock mountain as I would call it you will understand the hike it took to get to this dang bear and back to the trucks! When looking at the GPS the hike down was approximately 1.3 miles. Well, in a straight line, the hike a different way than the one we took down is exactly 1 mile. What hike do you think we picked. The one that the mountain had a backside of rock that we didn't know about and the hike was actually 2.5 miles! We hiked all the way around this little rock mountain in the rain and hail and mud and sharp trees and bushes across slick rock and when we thought we were almost there, we still had a mile to hike! FEEL THE BURN!?!?!?! I certainly am. Every muscle in my body was aching by the time we were done!

Well, despite all of the hard work that bear fed us, we did have some fun too! We shot water bottles off of a tree stump! Yes I did hit one! Beginner's luck or pure skill? I'll take the skill!!! It was pretty fun, we don't go shooting all that often.

This is my man thinking he is hot stuff with his little pistol trying to shoot the water bottles down!

This final picture is a picture of a dang cool rock we saw on the drive home! I tried getting Dust to stop so I could get a picture but he refused. He wanted to get home fast so he would not pull over so I had to take this picture through the truck window traveling 70 mph down the highway! Well, this was my adventure filled memorial day weekend in Blanding!
